TRES ISLAS ORPHANAGE FUND
TRES ISLAS ORPHANAGE FUND
The Tres Islas Orphanage Funds only purpose is to help orphaned children in Mazatlan. It was founded as a one-person effort about 25 years ago by a newspaper reporter by the name of Donelle Manton who was sent to take pictures of Mexican children. She fell in love with the children! She also saw some of the orphanages and how poor conditions were there... and she realized the huge need for help for the kids. Donelle and her husband have since dedicated their lives to helping. First priority is nourishing food for the children each week, second educational needs (school supplies, shoes, uniforms, clothes) and finally upgrades to their homes, the orphanages and medical needs.
The Tres Islas Orphanage Fund supports 5 orphanages:
Orfanatorio Mazatlan
Salvation Army Children’s Home
Father Tovar’s Home for Boys (Hogar San Pablo)
Ciudad de los Ninos
FloreSer

The Tres Islas Orphanage Fund list of costs for 2008 & 2009 and estimated costs for 2010. The board of directors asked to have this published to show where donations are used.

Each week the Tres Islas Orphanage Fund buys the five orphanages food for the upcoming week.

Donors recently raised the money to purchase much needed mattresses.
Other helpers brought sheet sets and made new bedspreads!
